  • One of the many reasons I love Tumblr

Tumblr recently turned “heart-of-BP-executive black “.

    Tumblr turns heart-of-BP-executive black

When you donate 5$, Tumblr will match it, hence, the donation will be 10$ to SAVE OUR GULF.

There’s still more you can do to help:

    • Spread the word. Make sure your friends know how much is at stake, and encourage your community to donate. You have a blog, don’t you?

    • Contact BP and your local government. BP must devote any resources needed to clean up this mess. We can’t let up.

    • Help your community reduce its dependence on oil. Buy local goods and produce. Bike and walk more. Take advantage of public transportation.

Run for Hope, Run for Life

Sunday, June 6, 2010, at Liwasang Kalayaan Marikina

A run organized by Couples For Christ – Singles for Christ Members in Marikina.
The goal is to raise funds for the kidney transplant of a sister, Sheila Aricheta, whose family cannot afford the price of the operation. They are trying to raise as much funds as they can to support her operation.

For every personal/group donation which sums to 200 pesos or more, you can let also a Gawad Kalinga Youth/Kid run for you instead, and run for our cause to save the life of a sister in need. (If you are willing to donate 200php or more, a GK Youth will run. Same goes for a group of friends who would want to donate 200 or more. You/your group will still get a certificate of participation)

    Please contact Ronjo.

“You must be the change you wish to see in the world.” ~Mahatma Ghandi

    Got this from Kate.

My friend has been selected as one of the volunteers to take part in The Youth Challenge International’s (YCI) exciting international volunteer project in Vanuatu. In order to qualify, he needs to raise at least $3400 to support the programs and other in-country expenses. This 6-week volunteer trip to Vanuatu focuses on helping improve the lives of many youth through education, healthcare, infrastructure building and leadership.

Vanuatu has one of the lowest standards of living in the world and virtually has a self-subsistent economy. The main community development needs of Vanuatu concern its youth unemployment and alienation, its geographical isolation from infrastructure in the remote islands, its reliance on foreign aid, the lack of a productive sector, minimal formal education, domestic violence, and maternal and child health problems.

Youth Challenge International developmental programs include providing opportunities for young people to develop their skills and promote a more sustainable youth development. This one time opportunity will help explore the existing problems in Vanuatu, be of service to the youth and empower them to become leaders in their own community which will strengthen their inner self to achieve success.

To help realize this mission, please consider giving whatever you can share in his name for Youth Challenge International’s project in Vanuatu this June-August. Feel free to donate through visiting the link below. Donations are tax deductible for Canadian residents.

Let’s help in our little ways. This is a perfect opportunity to practice social responsibility and generosity. :)

I already did my part, go on and repost this and make a donation yourself.

    Thank you very much!

Remember our Gigmoto Project: We’re Just a Bunch of Kids trying to Help! We were able to buy a wheelchair, bibles and seedlings and although I don’t know much yet about the the people who received them, I want to share this photo!

This really made me feel good!

    Good day!

PS For all who helped in kind or even in thoughts, THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
