So today I spent the whole day at GBF (Gokongwei Brothers’ Foundation) for our First Share, Learn, Share session where we basically reviewed Jim Collins‘ book, Good to Great. Discussing the book made me realize a number of things, some of them are:
1) I consider myself at LEVEL 1 Leadership right now. Need some serious work (starting w. myself) man!
2) I need to really understand or find my three circles, well at least I have good councils.
3) I am valuable

After the presentations from the diff. groups, Human Capital Asia, Inc.’s “Sir Gin”, presented Doctor Edward de Bono’s Six (6) Thinking Hats wish is…. AWESOME, I tell you.
I will not go into detail but here are the Six Thinking Hats:
BLUE Hat “Managin the Thinking” , you define the purpose of the meeting when starting
WHITE Hat no it’s not the frozen yogurt you love, “Information”, here all the necessary information are raised, all the necessary information you need to know and other people’s view (not feelings) What do we know? What we need to know?
RED Hat “Feelings, Intuition and Instinct” Wearing this hat, you have the permission to share your feelings.
YELLOW Hat “Benefits” Everybody’s on OPTIMISTIC mode, even if you don’t feel good about it, you’re against it, think outside of the box and share the benefits that you can think of.
BLACK Hat “Risk” The down side. What could possible go wrong?
GREEN Hat “New Ideas” Here comes the creative thinking part.
*Notes:
It cuts down the meeting duration to about 60%.
If you try it, you’ll see the difference immediately. Conflicts and heated debates are avoided.
Everything should be written down or noted, no matter how absurd it is.
When it’s RED hat, it’s RED hat.
There’s no order in using the thinking hats, but you must always start and end with the BLUE HAT.
You can use one hat only. For example, RED HAT, “banning smoking everywhere…”.
I think the 6 Thinking Hats is a really good tool which can be implemented at work, at home or even in relationships!

I did some sketching too and came up with a new theme for this site to work on, I feel good and excited about it. I’m using my Adobe Illustrator and my Genius Tablet… finally!

Problem solved.
My friends tease me all the time for talking too much while I’m driving, they keep on complaining that I talk to cars, trees etc. I often do this when I’m accompanied while driving, but when I’m alone, I normally just say, “Sorry!” or “A$$” or “FU”.
This thing is perfect, wish you can put on custom messages, but it’s a good start.
