Quick, shot?
So lately I’ve been playing with the baby, Anthony, and I’m still trying to explore his unique capabilities and features and it does take time. We’ve been together for a couple of months but I still need some getting used to.
In case you don’t know, it’s myIXY 3000IS.
Let me talk about it’s Quick Shot feature.
There are a couple of other Canon cameras that have this same feature and what amazes me is that, when I turn my cam’s dial on Quick Shot, adjust some settings, I get better results compared to having it on P or M mode.
Did you ever notice that?
And, you don’t have to half press to take a picture!
Yes, you peek through the viewfinder to align and actually shoot, which is hard and ofter weird to look at considering you’re using a “Point and Shoot” camera.
Well…. apparently… according to velocityreviews,
When you are in quick shot mode, the LCD image freezes during autofocus and the camera spends all of its energy on focusing without also providing video. The stuttering sound speeds up to the point where it’s a sort of buzz, and the whole operation takes noticeably less time. The period the viewfinder is frozen is a small fraction of a second; not very annoying in practice.
And from the Canon site,
Quick Mode makes lag time shortest to not miss any scene.
The camera’s LCD screen turns off and the viewfinder displays the scene while framing. When the moment you want to shoot the focused moving subject comes along, this feature makes lag time shortest to capture the subject quickest. If the camera focuses on faces, the faces are also detected in the frame.
Now..we know.
