So you’re desktop or laptop is running on Windows 7, and you would like to install Google Chrome… but you can’t install it because of this error,

    Google Update Error 0x8004071c?

    Here’s the fix: (source)

    1. Go to the Start menu > Run.
    2. Run regedit. Click OK.
    3. Find and right-click the relevant registry key for your operating system:

    Windows XP: AuditInProgress in HKLM\System\Setup

    Windows Vista: ImageState in HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Setup\State

    Windows 7: ImageState inHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Setup\State

    1. Select Modify.
    2. Delete the value. Click OK.
So after successfully installing Google Chrome, you type the address to your favorite site like www.pixelgirlpresents.com and you get,

Oops! This link appears broken. Page not found-connection failure.

Unchecking  ”Use DNS prefetching to improve page load performance” didn’t do the trick?  Try using Google Public DNS, it worked for me.

There are a lot of tutorials out there detailing how you can change it by editing the registry but downloading Tweak.com’s Logon Changer works and is very easy to use.

change1 Logon Screen image used was Grass Blades by Kol.

Just click on the button Change Logon Screen and it’s done! It fixes the file size issue too.
